Historical General Assembly (New This Year)
The General Assembly, the centerpiece of the United Nations, offers equal representation to all member states. These committees will be the largest at ILMUNC XXVII, and will give delegates the ability to delabte traditional global issues on a larger forum. This year, delegates will debate a number of issues that span the entire spectrum of international relations. Alongside four of our landmark committees, we are excited to present for the first time the Historical General Assembly, which will provide delegates an opportunity to examine some of the world¡¯s most pressing problems in a historical context. We are also proud to continue offering the United Nations Peacebuilding Commission, ILMUNC all-novice committee.
Economic and Social Council
United Nations Children’s Fund
United Nations Development Programme (New This Year)
United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization
United Nations Environment Programme (New This Year)
The Economic and Social Council addresses substantial and critical nonpolitical issues in smaller, more intimate committees than those of the General Assembly. ILMUNC XXVII is proud to feature innovative simulations such as the United Nations Development Programme, which will attempt to ameliorate the various human rights catastrophes that are continually occurring in our world. The United Nations Children¡¯s Fund will attempt to resolve longstanding problems related specifically to children. The United Nations Environment Programme will discuss issues pertaining to the global environment, and the preservation thereof. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization will address urgent issues relating to some of the most important needs of the world¡¯s populations, from compulsory education to voter¡¯s rights.
Specialized Agencies
Commission on the Status of Women (New This Year)
International Atomic Energy Agency (New This Year)
Union for the Mediterranean (New This Year)
International Monetary Fund (New This Year)
The Specialized Agencies of ILMUNC XXVII afford delegates several committees that are substantively and structurally different from standing UN committees. ILMUNC XXVII is proud to feature a completely new set of exciting committees for the Specialized Agencies. The Specialized Agencies will feature the Commission on the Status of Women, which will delve into some of the global problems relating to female empowerment. The International Atomic Energy Agency will discuss the interplay of atomic bombs and technology with the world¡¯s geopolitical structure. The Union for the Mediterranean will offer regional summit for the Mediterranean area. And lastly, the International Monetary Fund will be a forum in which to discuss some of the problems that the IMF face in their pursuit of monetarily solving global problems.

One of ILMUNC¡¯s greatest strengths is our crisis committees and regional simulations, each of which is allocated a sizable staff to develop and manage exciting and realistic crisis simulations. On each mentally stimulating committee, delegates will face threats to international peace and security--both in modern, historical, and future settings--pushing them to respond in both expedient and innovative ways. .
ILMUNC XXVII is extremely proud to offer a new joint crisis committee that will test the aptitude of and pose significant challenges for their delegates. Throughout the conference, the two JCC committees will be working together in a coordinated simulation to provide delegates with a greater twist on issues and even faster-paced action. The identity of the two JCC committees will be revealed to participating delegates two weeks before conference. Seats on JCC committees will be taken by application only.
For delegates more interested in other individual cabinet, historical or futuristic simulations, we will also be running the dynamic Weimar Germany, the Maldives Cabinet 2050, the Northern Ireland Executive Committee, the Bolivarian Alliance, and the Vietnamese Quagmire.
We would recommend that the mot experienced delegates join the Security Council, which will address a unique and exciting simulation that deals with some of the globes most challenging issues. Please remember that the two JCC committees are by application only.
