Lucas Weiner

Dear Delegates,

Welcome to the Expo 2017 committee for ILMUNC! My name is Lucas Weiner, and I will be serving as your Chair for ILMUNC. I'm really excited for ILMUNC this year. I think that our committee will be very exciting, and I can't wait to see the way you try to tackle these pressing issues and attempt to strategize with each other. This committee promises to be exciting and educational.

As for myself, I am a sophomore at the University of Pennsylvania. I am studying Economics and Computer Science (most likely), but I also have a passion for international relations that motivates my interest in Model UN. I competed in Model UN all throughout middle school and high school, and I also compete on Penn's competitive team.

I hope to use this knowledge to make the most engaging and fun committee possible! Be prepared to have a lot of fun and also learn a thing or two. I was in your position just two years ago. I have always loved Model UN and I can’t wait to make sure you all have even more fun at ILMUNC than I did in high school.

Best,

Lucas Weiner

Armghan Ahman

Dear Delegates,

Welcome to ILMUNC XXIV! My name is Armghan Ahmad and I will be your moderator for the Expo Astana. Along with your chairs, Eva and Christian, I am very excited to welcome you all to Philadelphia for what I am sure will be another exciting, fun-filled conference.

I am a junior in the College and Wharton, studying Finance, Marketing and Sociology. Outside of Model UN, I am involved the Wharton Private Equity and Venture Capital club, the Penn Fashion Collective, and serve as a photographer on the Humans of UPenn team. I have a special interest on the intersection between law and business, and am excited to see where this committee takes us in our discussions and resolutions.

With the increasing significance of energy and the environment, juxtaposed across a backdrop of rapid population growth and development, the Expo Committee sits in a particularly timely space of international discourse. The committee will have to wrestle with the difficult decisions of having to balance past developments, future expectations, and both national and international concerns. It will be up to the delegate to steer the committee in the its immediacy to current affairs and effects on the international community.

Along with your chairs, I hope to help facilitate create an interesting and challenging committee environment. We hope that you all are excited for ILMUNC and are ready to create lasting memories here in the city of brotherly love. If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to reach out! Looking forward to meeting all of you!

Best,

Armghan Ahman
