Welcome to Specialized Agencies

Dear Delegates,

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the twenty-seventh session of the Ivy League Model United Nations Conference! As your Undersecretary-General for Specialized Agencies, I am eager to observe your stimulating and dynamic debate. Last year, I served as an Assistant Secretary-General of ILMUNC XXVI. The ILMUNC XXVII Secretariat is comprised of a group of talented, passionate, and committed individuals that I have had the honor of working with for the last year to ensure that this will be your best MUN experience to date.

As for me, I am from Harrison, New York. I am a sophomore in the College of Arts and Sciences majoring in Political Science and minoring in both Chinese and International Development. In addition to my involvement in the International Affairs Association at Penn, I also play on the Women¡¯s Club Lacrosse team and serve as a Peer Advisor for incoming freshmen.

This year¡¯s chairs and staff have made a great effort to develop interesting and thought-provoking topics. The unique size of the Specialized Committees will facilitate invigorating and comprehensive debate on a variety of vital global issues. You should look forward to interacting with your peers, as it is you as a delegate, who truly has the ability to make this ILMUNC the best one yet.

Throughout the conference I will be visiting each committee room to make announcements, deliver surprises, and observe debate. Please feel free to e-mail me before conference with any questions that you may have or just to introduce yourself. Before college, I had never done Model UN, so if this is your first conference, get excited! I am looking forward to meeting all of you in January!

Best,

Allie Kronthal
