Canyon Kornicker

Dear Delegates,

It is my absolute privilege to welcome you to ILMUNC! My name is Canyon Kornicker and I will be the chair for the specialized committee on the Peace of Westphalia.

I was originally born in New York City, but lived most of my life in Central New Jersey and moved recently to Connecticut. With that being said, studying at the University of Pennsylvania has made me fall in love with Philadelphia. At Penn, I’m in the Wharton School of Business, where I plan to concentrate in Management and Behavioral Economics and minor in English and Mathematics.

This fall I was a Business Director for UPMUNC 52 and chaired a committee for ILMUNC India. The International Affairs Association has been a huge part of my life on campus and I’m super lucky to be involved in this incredible organization. I’m also involved in Penn Records, a student-run music label. In my free time, I like to stay up to date on new books, music and movies.

I hope you all are as excited as I am for conference! I’m looking forward to having a nice weekend of intense debate on 16th and 17th century geopolitics and we’re looking to make this specialized committee as engaging and interesting for you guys as possible. I myself am a huge fan of European History, so get pumped for a great time in Westphalia! If you have any questions in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to email me at canyon@wharton.upenn.edu. I’m looking forward to meeting you all and hopefully fostering good debate!

Best wishes,

Canyon Kornicker

Dear Delegates,

Welcome to ILMUNC 35! My name is Morgan Taylor, and I am so excited to welcome you all to the Peace of Westphalia committee and be your moderator. I cannot wait to see you all wrestle with engaging with intense topics of debate and deal with complex situations. We are so excited to welcome you to our committee and our conference!

I am a sophomore in the College of Arts and Science studying Health and Societies with a concentration in Markets, Finance, and Healthcare, and am dual minoring in Biological Basis of Behavior and Healthcare Management in the Wharton School. I’m from Darien, Connecticut; it’s a small town near New York City. During high school, I participated in Model UN and absolutely loved it, so I jumped at the opportunity to participate in something MUN related in college. Within the International Affairs Association, I am also involved with UPMUNC and was an Under-Secretary General of Crisis for this past conference! When I am not with the International Affairs Association, I am probably hanging out with my friends and probably doing a little too much online shopping.

I am so excited to work with Canyon who is sure to provide you with a weekend full of passionate debate, dramatic twists, and a chance for you to showcase your ideas and unique point of view. We can’t wait to hear from you and see you in action. I am so excited to meet you all!

If you have any questions or concerns feel free to reach out to me or Canyon, or your USGs, Joshita Varshney and Lexie Shah.

See you at ILMUNC,

Morgan Taylor
