Spencer Weiss

Dear Delegates,

Welcome to ILMUNC XXXV! My name is Spencer Weiss, and it is my pleasure to join you as the Crisis Director of the Board of Directors: Technology Companies. The Secretariat has been working hard since last year to put on an excellent conference, and I look forward to joining you for what will hopefully be one of the highlights of your semester.

I am a sophomore in the Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology at Penn, studying Bioengineering for a degree from the School of Engineering and Applied Science and Management for a degree from the Wharton School of Business. I am also minoring in Computer Science and Mathematics. I am from northern Virginia, in the suburbs of Washington, D.C., and I have been doing Model UN as a delegate and on the conference side for eight years. At Penn, I have traveled as a member of the intercollegiate Model UN Team and served as an Assistant Secretary-General of ILMUNC.

When I am not working with the International Affairs Association, I make seed-stage investments in startups at Penn, work on product development for biotech companies, serve on the leadership of the engineering school and do biosciences research. I can be found around campus reading about technology business strategy and cheering on my Washington sports teams.

I am excited to work with our Amanda, our chair, for the duration of the conference, and we hope to see some passionate debate and interesting crisis work throughout the weekend. We hope you have grand plans to execute your vision for technology, and we can’t wait to hear your ideas. If you have any questions about the committee or the conference, feel free to reach out to me or to your USG, Sravya Alla. Good luck, and see you on the other side this winter!

Sincerely,

Spencer Weiss

Amanda Warren

Dear Delegates,

Welcome to Board of Directors: Technology Comapnies at ILMUNC XXXV! My name is Amanda Warren and I couldn’t be more excited to be your Chair for a weekend spent in the future of high-tech.

A bit about me: I’m a senior studying Finance and Management at the Wharton School. I grew up in Santa Barbara, California, but currently reside in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Besides being your chair for ILMUNC, I am the Vice President of Penn’s International Affairs Association, the larger club that ILMUNC is situated within. I also travel with Intercol, Penn’s competitive intercollegiate Model UN team, and used to serve as the team’s Chief of Staff. When I’m not doing IAA or Intercol-related things, you can find me studying anywhere with a lot of natural light, running on the Schuylkill River trail, or trying/failing to teach myself how to cook.

Back to the topic at hand, I truly cannot wait to run the Board of Directors: Technology Comapnies committee alongside your insanely talented Crisis Director, Spencer Weiss. This is my second committee with Spencer, and we are really looking forward to working together again to make this committee one you all will never forget. Come prepared to set a course for the tech world in general as we debate future issues such as ethics and technology, artificial intelligence, and the future of the transportation industry. Please feel free to reach out to me at warrenam@wharton.upenn.edu with any questions about the committee/life/anything. See you in January!

Sincerely,

Amanda Warren
