Dear Delegates,

Welcome to ILMUNC 36! On behalf of the dais and the rest of Secretariat, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the United Nations Security Council. I hope you are as excited for this committee as I am, as this conference will challenge you in new and innovative ways. As you know, this committee combines some of the best of crisis committees, dual-dels, and resolution-writing, and I'm honored to be your Chair for this conference!

To introduce myself, my name is Jay Vaingankar and I'm a senior at the University of Pennsylvania, studying in the Huntsman Program in International Studies and Business. I was born and raised in Hightstown, New Jersey, where we find ourselves going through all four seasons every week, splitting between the Giants and Eagles, and asserting that yes, Central Jersey does exist.

On campus, I currently serve as the Head Delegate of Penn's Intercollegiate Model United Nations Team. Outside of class and MUN, some of my hobbies are playing basketball, doing Bhangra, learning foreign languages, debating politics, and of course, tagging people in memes.

I could not be more excited to team up with my best friend, a fellow Jersey boy, and your Crisis Director, Adithya Adaikalavan, as we take on our final ILMUNC and our final Chair/CD experience. He and I have been preparing for months to bring you a committee that is exciting, challenging, and memorable in your high school career.

If you have any questions about committee, conference, Penn, the college circuit, or anything in general, please feel free to email me at
