Joint Crisis Committee: Star Wars Cabinet 1
Approximately 20 Delegates - Single Delegate
Welcome to the Confederacy of Independent Systems! It is 19 BBY, and the galaxy burns. The Separatist Council—an uneasy coalition of corporate magnates, planetary leaders, and idealists—has launched a daring assault on Coruscant itself. As Republic forces fight to protect the capital, the Confederacy faces its own internal crisis. Can the Confederacy of Independent Systems unite profit and principle, or will corruption and distrust doom its revolution? Delegates must steer the Council through treachery, betrayal, and the fading promise of freedom. With Count Dooku’s motives under scrutiny and General Grievous waging war above the capital, the fate of galactic independence hangs in your hands. Will you forge peace, claim victory, or watch the Confederacy collapse from within? The future of the galaxy’s rebellion starts, and may end, here.
Dear Delegates,
Welcome to the Dark Side! I’m honored to welcome you to ILMUNC XLII’s Star War Joint Crisis Committee. My name is Sophia Paris, and as one of the chairs of this committee, I look forward to guiding you through the intricate and complex discussions that will very clearly define the future of not only the Galactic Empire, but also the Galaxy.
The Dark Council serves as the supreme ruling body of the Sith Empire, entrusted with navigating the political and military complexities of our expansion. We are tasked with asserting our authority, restoring galactic, and decisively eliminating the Jedi threat. The issues before us are not merely hypothetical--they require a profound understanding of strategy, diplomacy, and the logistical challenges of sustained military and political campaigns. I look forward to hearing your ideas on how mitigate the Jedi Order, control any and all rebellious systems, and reestablish our dominance throughout the Galaxy.
A little bit about me: I recently graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a major in Health and Societies (concentrating in Healthcare Markets and Finance) and a minor in Political Sciences. I’m originally from Summit, New Jersey, but am now living in my new (and very small!) post-grad apartment in Hoboken, New Jersey, working in M&A for a hospital system. I’ve been participating in Model UN since I was in high school and I’ve been a member of ILMUNC for three years, with my third and final year culminating in serving as Director-General of ILMUNC XLI last January. Outside of work, I enjoy reading (I run a book review Instagram account), skiing, going to concerts in New York City, and, of course, watching Star Wars.
I’m looking forward to chairing with my fellow former Upper Secretariat members—Mahi, Thomas, and Cory! Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns regarding the committee.
Sincerely,
Sophia Paris

Dear Delegates,
I am excited to welcome you to the Joint Crisis Committee of ILMINC XLII! My name is Cory Porter, and I’m beyond excited to serve as your Crisis Director for this exciting committee that explores the turbulent years between movies 3 and 4, where the Empire tightens its grip on the galaxy and the seeds of rebellion begin to take root.
As for some notes about me, I’m a current senior in the Huntsman Program studying International Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences and Finance and Marketing in Wharton. I’m also from Los Angeles, and have been participating in Model UN since I was a freshman in high school! On campus, I’m involved in Wharton Ambassadors and Greek Life. I also am (and was) involved in ILMUNC, serving as Chief of Staff for ILMUNC XLI – so I’m excited to have the opportunity to chair a committee this year! Outside of that, I love hiking and skiing and try to enjoy the outdoors as much as possible!
Thomas, Sophia, Mahi and I are really looking forward to working with you this upcoming anuary. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions regarding committee, and remember, the Empire is watching.

Dear Delegates,
I am thrilled to welcome you to the Joint Crisis Committee of ILMUNC XLII. My name is Mahi Vakil, and as the Chair of the Jedi High Council, I am beyond excited to guide you through a series of engaging and impactful debates set in a galaxy far, far away...
The Jedi Council stands as the guardians of peace and justice across the galaxy. As delegates, you will grapple with challenges that test not only your diplomatic finesse, but also your moral compass—balancing the ideals of the Force with the realities of war. You’ll be called to defend the Republic, uphold the Jedi Code, and navigate the delicate line between duty and compassion. The fate of countless systems may rest in your hands: will you maintain the balance of the Force, or succumb to the temptations that power brings? I can’t wait to see how you rise to the occasion in this ever-evolving crisis.
For some background on me, I am a senior at the University of Pennsylvania, studying Bioengineering with a minor in Engineering Entrepreneurship. While I have not competed in Model UN before, I am so grateful to have called ILMUNC my home these past few years. I’ve had the opportunity to chair at our international conferences in Vietnam and Puerto Rico, and I’ve had the honor of serving as the Chief Financial Officer of ILMUNC XLI. Originally from Edison, New Jersey, I spend my free time reading (please give me more book recommendations!), watching 2000s-era six-plus-season TV shows, doing hot yoga, and attending orchestral concerts.
I’m counting down the days until I can meet you all and chair this committee alongside my fellow former Upper Secretariat members—Thomas, Sophia, and Cory. If you have any questions in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I can’t wait to see the creativity, strategy, and spirit you’ll bring to this galaxy.
Sincerely,
Mahi Vakil
