United Nations Office on Outer Space Affairs
Approximately 60 Delegations - Double Delegate
Topic A: Mitigating Space Debris
Topic B: Commercial Lunar Operations
As humanity’s presence in space expands, from satellite mega-constellations to lunar exploration and commercial launches, outer space is quickly becoming a domain that demands careful governance. Delegates will confront issues such as mitigating space debris in increasingly crowded orbits and regulating commercial activity on the Moon. Throughout committee, you will work to develop frameworks that ensure outer space remains peaceful, sustainable, and accessible to all nations, not just those with advanced space programs. This is your chance to shape the next era of space exploration.
Dear Delegates,
I am excited to welcome you to the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (OOSA) of ILMUNC! My name is Angela Xhori, and as a Co-Chair I look forward to guiding you through engaging and impactful discussions that explore various aspects of cosmic collaboration. Over the weekend we will engage in spirited debate to develop innovative solutions to address issues OOSA faces. My advice to you in this committee is to think creatively, take part in debate excitedly, and collaborate effectively with all your fellow delegations.
A little bit about me, I am a sophomore from Philadelphia studying Philosophy, Politics, and Economics in the College of Arts and Sciences. This will be my first conference that I have helped to plan with ILMUNC and hope that you all have an enriching and valuable experience! Outside of ILMUNC, I compete on Penn’s own Model UN team, INTERCOL, alongside your co-chair Malini, where I serve as assistant chief of finance. I love playing volleyball, doing arts and crafts, and taking walks along the Schuylkill.
Malini, Dahai, and I are all looking forward to working with you in the OOSA committee and welcoming you to Philadelphia! Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions regarding the committee.
All the best,
Angela Xhori

In the United Nations General Assembly, The Office for Outer Space Affairs, OOSA focuses on international cooperation for both sustainable and peaceful use of space. In this committee, we will be debating the mitigation of space debris, which has become increasingly prevalent. Additionally, I look forward to hearing your ideas on commercial lunar operations, which allow for creative and international collaboration.
A little bit about me, I am a sophomore in the College of Arts and Sciences studying economics. I’m from Los Angeles, and went to Mira Costa High School where I participated on my high school’s Model UN team. This will be my second conference that I have helped to plan with ILMUNC and hope that you all have an enriching and valuable experience! Outside of ILMUNC, I help to tutor students in West Philly schools and am involved in Greek life on campus. I love long walks, listening to music, and pilates!
